Tandem in Borderland’ tries to answer the question what Polish-Belarusian Borderland really is. Two friends: a Pole with Belarusian roots and a Belarusian of Polish origin
went on a bike trip along Polish-Belarusian Borderland. The bike made it possible for them
to return to their roots and gave them a chance to fully experience the areas they visited – it’s obvious that someone who rides slowly can see much more. The two young people were looking for things both nations, occupying the same land for ages, had in common and things which divided them. They were looking for the pros and cons of Borderland. They wondered how people they met would greet them and if they could understand the meaning of their trip. The filmmaking process was full of interesting events on both sides of the border. Six filmmakers with their gear and a rather uncommon tandem bike aroused great interest of local people and Borderland turned out to be hospitable for our travelers…
